Black Panther

Plot:

After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

Review:

I only have a few complaints, so I’m gonna get those out of the way because this was a really good movie!

So to start, Micheal B Jordan’s character, Eric Killmonger appears in the beginning of the movie and does something…. but then disappears for 30 minutes before showing back up. I loved his character, but I completely forgot about him until he showed back up, and I felt like he should’ve been in the movie more.

My other complaint is I felt some of the stuff that happened in the third act of the movie felt a bit convenient to me.

And that’s pretty much it. I liked T’Challa’s struggle on transitioning from a warrior into a king, I liked that Killmonger was a very sympathetic villain and you understood where he was coming from. All the female characters were complete badasses which isn’t something you see a lot, and I felt like the African lifestyle was portrayed well in this movie!

Grade:

Finally got a good movie after a train of bad movies early this year, lol.

I’m giving Black Panther a 8/10 or a B+

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Plot: Thomas leads some escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions that the Gladers have been asking since they arrived in the maze. Review: Right off the bat, I’ll tell you that this is better than The Scorch Trial, which is all I was asking for. The action is great, there’s some emotional moments, and the stakes are the highest they’ve been. It’s not entirely perfect and there are moments I rolled my eyes at, but I did get a lot of enjoyment and it does end the series fairly well. Grade: I’ll give The Death Cure a 7/10 or a C
